Reynolds~ 5 months!

Well folks, Reynolds is now 5 months old as of last Thursday! I can't believe how the time is flying but we're having so much fun with her. She is just getting to the age where she thinks everything we do is the funniest thing she's ever seen! :) And I'm sure we make complete fools of ourselves, but oh the things we will do to see that sweet smile.

So after Reynolds' 4 month checkup, the doctor cleared us to start on solid food. I was a little hesitant at first, mainly since she was a preemie and she's been a little behind on other milestones. So we waited another 2 weeks before introducing her to oatmeal. I will say she didn't get all these rolls naturally; this girl loves to eat! She's always been a good eater but when she tried oatmeal for the first time, it was love at first bite, haha!

So after a few weeks of oatmeal, we decided it was time to let her try some baby food. She started out with sweet potatoes, which she loved, but I think she had a mild allergic reaction to them. So we stopped everything except for oatmeal for another week or so.

We started back with bananas after that and she's never looked back, obvious by the rolls. ;) Her current favorites are green beans and carrots and she also likes apples. Bananas are okay but this girl really loves her veggies! Yay for MR!

Other happenings this past month - she finally rolled over! She first did this when she was 20 weeks old (from her back to tummy) and she's still only done it once. She will roll from her belly to back now though so I know it will only be a few more months before we have a mobile baby in the house! Yikes!

She is also really into her jumperoo that she got for Christmas (thanks Nana!). Even though her feet don't yet reach the ground, she loves to be in it, as long as it's in front of the t.v. I'm really not one of these moms who just puts her baby in front of the t.v. but Reynolds is fascinated by it. If she is in the room and the t.v. is on, she watches it, no matter what's showing.

And finally,we are so blessed with a baby who LOVES to sleep! The first night she "slept through the night" was after the Texas A&M game in November. I think that game just took so much out of her that she needed extra sleep... and she's never looked back. During the week she gets about 11 hours/ night. I usually lay her down between 8 and 8:30 and wake her up at 7. On the weekend though, she will usually sleep until 9ish, which is pretty fantastic for us! She definitely takes after her momma in this aspect. :)

Now for the monthly photos of our sweet Reynolds! (sorry for picture overload)

This last picture cracks me up! I feel like she and Teddy are having a very important convo. :)

Well that's Reynolds at a glance at 5 months old... Happy Tuesday y'all! :)

Oh, and Roll Tide after that b'ball victory over Kentucky!

MR~ 4 months old

Words cannot describe how happy I am that I'm officially on Christmas break until January 2! I plan to exercise my left-brain a little and work on some projects around the house that I simply haven't had time for since MR was born and I went back to work. So stay tuned for those...

It's hard to believe that Reynolds was 4 months old on December 17! She had a doctor's appointment that morning but I quickly took her pics before we went. At her appointment she weighed 12 lbs. 4 oz and was 23 1/4" long. So she's in the 10-15th percentile for both height and weight, however her head measured 16", which is 50th percentile! Maybe that means she will be smart like her daddy. :)

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and gets to enjoy time spent with loved ones. Merry Christmas from my family to yours!

Fall Fun!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I know I sure did, especially after that amazing win Alabama got Saturday night in Death Valley! Roll Tide.

I decided to have a little Sunday afternoon fun with my camera and take advantage of the beautiful tree in our yard. This tree is one of my favorite signs that fall is finally here.

And of course I tried to take some cute pictures of the little nugget. I also learned that the best time to try to take said pictures is NOT right before it's time for a bottle. ;) This was the best we could do...

Oh well. We still had fun and I always learn something new when I use my camera. It will be much easier once she can sit up. Not that I'm wishing any time away though because I love how much she likes to snuggle right now. :)

Hope you all have a fabulous week and Roll Tide!

Final Nursery Reveal!

Well I'm a little behind in posting the final nursery photos but better late than never, right?! It's safe to say that it's just about my favorite room in our house. Btw, you'll notice several photo frames with random babies' pictures in them... we're waiting to fill those with MR's newborn photos!

Without further ado, here is Reynolds' nursery. If I had to pick my 3 favorite items in here it would be:
1. The antique printer tray above the fireplace I found at Jarman Antiques for $40. I can't wait to fill it up with more random little things. :)
2. The antique school desk that we use as a bedside table and for her books. We scored this piece at a yard sale for $1! Yep, one buck, although it did take some work as it had about 15 coats of white paint on it. Luckily my hubby helped me and used chemical stripper to get most of it off and I sanded the rest.
3. The rocking chair we found for $7. It's come a long way from the ugly yellow that it was! We have about $30 invested in it, including paint, new cushion, fabric, etc... and I love it - I use it daily. The cane back and memory foam cushion make those late night rocking sessions super comfortable! :)

Crochet hoop belonged  to my grandmother; cowbell was my dad's

LOVE these clothes organizer for the closet!

I actually had this exact framed bedtime prayer (bottom frame with bear) in my room as a kid. I was so excited when I found it at a local antique store!

Reynolds' first night home from the NICU in her bed. She was so small!

Just a Saturday night craft project thanks to the re-opening of Hobby Lobby :)

Her room turned out exactly how I hoped it would, although it took a while for it to all come together! It's such a relaxing place to feed her, play with her, rock her, etc... and I really think she enjoys being in there. Hopefully she will enjoy her room as much as I did creating it for her! :) Oh, and I'll add that she has slept in her crib since the first night we brought her home! She's such a good baby and a good little sleeper. :)

That's all for now. Happy Wednesday!
