Mule Day takes place in Winfield on the 4th Saturday in September each year, and has been named "One of the top 20 events in the Southeast" by Travel and Tourism magazine. There was also a great article about it in Southern Living last year! Well guess what this past weekend was? Yep, you guessed it! :)
Unfortunately I wasn't able to go to the actual "Mule Day" on Saturday because I went to the Bama game (Roll Tide!) but I did manage to get in the action on Friday night and go to Mule Night Madness. My mom and I had a great time eating at Aroma's Cafe, complete with live music. I'm not sure who the band was but they were really good! We met a really nice man, a retired teacher from Hamilton, and ate with him because it was so crowded. And of course the steak sandwich, which was prepared by my amazing 5th/6th grade teacher, was delicious! So in addition to spending time with my mom, seeing old friends, and meeting new ones, Mule Night Madness was a success and I left with these cute items for our front porch:
Iron pumpkin: $15 |
Iron plant stand: $25 Mums: $6 |
I will definitely be adding more out here (like a new welcome mat, door hanger, maybe use some burlap for layering, etc...) but this is a start! And seeing all of these pumpkins just make me smile when I get home :) Here are some inspiration photos from my Pinterest:
Ahh, these just make me happy... Well, that's all for now! Happy Fall!
