Life update!

This post really has nothing to do with updates on the house, nursery, etc... but we do have some pretty exciting news that we'd like to share!

Meet the soon-to-be newest member of the Elliott family:

Yep, that's right, we're those crazy people getting a new puppy with a baby on the way! :) Some of you know that we lost our Golden Retriever, Dodger this past February from cancer. That dog will always have a special place in my heart and I miss him terribly...

But we've thought long and hard on getting another GR and have decided that we will probably be those people who always have a Golden. They are just the best dogs ever and I'm glad the baby will be able to grow up with him!

We debated whether to wait until after the baby to get a puppy, but then figured it would be at least a year or 2 before we felt ready to get one. Getting one now will give me plenty of time (hopefully) to have him potty trained before September rolls around. Plus, how could you resist this precious little face??

His name is Jax! Apple Jax to be exact and we can't wait to get him! He will be six weeks old June 16 so we're bringing him home then! We're getting him from a relative who spoils her dogs as much as we do, so I'm glad he's coming from a very loving home. If you can't resist the precious face either and are interested, let me know and I'll give you the information! She still has a few left :) Here's one last pic of Jax mingling with his brothers and sisters:

In other family-related news, we finally have a name for the bambino! We've decided on Mary Reynolds and we'll call her Reynolds. I had wanted to use that name for our first girl for years now after getting engaged in Reynolds Square in Savannah, GA, but when the time finally came it was a hard decision to make. I'm highly indecisive and this is something she'll live with forever, but I love it! My name is Mary Katherine, my mom is Mary Angelia and my great-grandmother was also Mary, so it's definitely a family name. Plus, I love the sentimentality of Reynolds and hope that she appreciates it when she's older. :)

And these are from my last trip to Savannah:

So, I'm thinking a little family vacay to Savannah next spring is a must! We definitely need a cute family photo in Reynolds Square! :)
